Our Community

Holbrook Academy is a popular secondary school serving the Shotley Peninsula and beyond, welcoming students from around 20 feeder schools each year. As a small school, students and staff know each other well, and many families value our community ethos.

Our students actively engage with the wider community through volunteering, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, supporting local schools and care homes, conservation work, and fundraising both locally and globally.

Student leadership is strong, with the Student Council and various clubs enabling students to support one another and drive positive change.

Our sports facilities, meeting spaces, and playing fields are shared with the community, hosting clubs from roller-skating to cricket. We also welcome the community to events such as Open Evening, Summer Soiree, school productions, art exhibitions, and sporting fixtures.
